"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally wornout and screaming "WOO HOO, What a Ride !" :o)
got this from some Health Q & A thingy. it was a email circulating around, whole lot of crap b4 that but this last part kind of makes some sense...

Am i supposed to say, "life in uni is supposed to be like that." when i wasted another hour trying to learn something only to come of the classroom feeling that i've gained nothing? What's the pt of you being a prof when, wk after wk, you just don't seemed to be bothered by the fact that your students never understood what you were teaching. We can't read with super-sonic speed. especially when we were buzy trying to decipher what you are trying to say. We can't read your minuscule handwriting. Quit removing the OHP slides after flashing it for that few seconds. We don't get enlightened everytime you say,"don't worry.. don't worry.." And everytime you ask if there's any probs, obviously there alot of probs, stop ignoring that fact. And for goodness sake, "interactive" doesn't mean us showing you our blur faces and you reading our blur faces...
hai... life in uni is supposed to be like tt..

um did i miss sth? haven't been watching the news lately... today, late for school as usual, i boarded bus 156 and i was totally stunned.. white-coloured leather cushions, the ceilings and everything red and padded.. the interior was like a make-shift bar/club.. apparently they were trying to create that effect.. groovy ! ^^ *

i had alot of mixed feelings tonight, tho im not one of those graduating ones, but jus tonight, i had alot of mixed feelings. maybi to those who were having this as their last concert might want it to last forever, to me, i guess it's the right time to take a break.
everything went well, the music and everything, but i realised that it doesn't really matter whether or not poema sounded impressive, whether it sounded musically nice, i dun care. but wat i do care, is whether my friends came, even if they don't normally appreciate music. wat i do care is whether my family understands why i've been spending so much time in school at night. what i do care, is more of the people around me than the music i play.
ive been asking myself if i should stay on for the next sem. Sure, there're people who offended me and all sorts of reasons why i thought staying on isn't such a good idea.. say that im childish or whatever i dun care, when im offended, i'll never forget. when im hurt, im hurt, that's jus me, period. but tonight, what i also realise was that sometimes i get the feeling that im bonded. sometimes, in an unfamilar surrounding, i do get a unexpected sense of familiarity. but there are times when im with people i noe, but i just felt that i shouldnt be there and i wanted to be detached... maybi, that's why, i thought a break would do me good. so that i can think things though.
Nonetheless, i really appreciate those who came tonight. Kanglin, Lionel, Khoonz, Jasper, Biyi, Shiyun, Gavin, Edi, Jeanette, Aiyun, Wyemun, Junlin, Tsinli, May, my army frenz, and my family... it's really great to hav u guys with me tonight. and to those who gave me "spiritual" support de.. oh Gaias, i luv the mr bean bear, tks ^^*will probably hug it to sleep tonight.. ha n phoebe, tks for ur card. u r probably the zillionth person describing me as an apparent-quiet-but-actually-very-crappy kind of person. and others who prob wun read my blog so, oh well..
will upload pix the nx time.

they always say, over-stretch a rubber band and it snaps... i feel like one. not that im about to snap, i just feel overstretched... not that im really tied down with work, but i just kind of tire myself out with all the worries that i kept my mind preoccupied with for the entire week. partly because of the anticipation for the upcoming performance .. datelines for my ctw first draft and my ss project are just round the corner.. hasn't been much of a progress, we are kind of stuck, every now and then we'd encounter problems which probes us into asking ourselves whether we are heading the right direction... if im a rubber band, im one which has been stretched pass the yielding pt, not elastic le. (pardon me for the engineering terms). argh, this week is so full of sleepless nights... every morning i wake up feeling more shitty then ever... some how some point in time, im pretty certain that i'd end up in the right direction.. but right now im jus lost, plain lost.. maybe there just too many things to juggle, then i just momentarily lose track... kind of like a mental block, everything just blanks out... normally when i type one big chunk of words without paragraphing... you know it's just meaningless rants which you can just ignore...to me right now studies is nothing, it's everything else that matters.

i hate no responses.. no response from com. no response from my grp proj mates.
freakin' hell. they better have a good reason for not responding me. isn't it supposed to be a group project? why the hell do i always end up doing solo? less then 2 wks left... don't they know?
im tired of trying to coordinate and then end up running the show alone... next sem, no more projects for me.

" (i) In the context of university education, we regard a lesson as valuable if it allows us to acquire skills which we could apply in other areas or modules for that matter. Many of our modules are project-based, thus the things we which learn in this web exercises will benefit us significantly. For instance the 4 methodologies and ways of justifications discussed will help us decide on how we should approach our project topics, and hence allow us to better plan the outline. We will also be aware of traps and pitfalls if the wrong method is used to justify our claims.
Furthermore, all engineering students are required to take up the module on Critical Thinking and Writing. A lot of these web materials are relevant to this English module. It really comes in handy as additional practice for our critique, considering the pack schedule the English module put us through.
Also, it makes us feel more appreciative of the things that we learnt in our course of study.
ii) In the context of our lives after graduation, if we assume that we all end up as engineers, we are probably required to analyze some engineering-related problems or to investigate a hypothesis.
Out of engineering context, we felt that what we learnt from this module will make us become a more critical person, one who receives with a open-mind and yet is aware the possible defeasibility of it. It probes us to question and not just take everything we see or hear for granted.
(C)
To us, a form of teaching is considered effective if it manages to engage the students and also ensure that they absorb what they learn and truly understands the principle behind it. We felt that the web lessons are effective in the sense that they allow us to learn at our own pace, considering that everyone has a different pace of learning. It , being interactive, was able to engage us, so that we are able to learn the things more effectively.
Also, it teaches in a very systematic way, visually providing the outline of the entire chapter, which was important. The outlines give us the overview of what we are learning, so that we know what to expect and thus better pace ourselves. Explanation through examples, we thought, was a more refreshing and effective way of teaching, because it enlightens us the ways in which how the different concepts could be applied.
Furthermore, we realized that the web lessons deploy a form of teaching that constantly makes references to the previous examples. This allows us to form a mental picture, or sort of to map out a mind map in our mind, when we constantly relate to things we have learnt in previous examples. The coherence and links between different concepts was made more apparent. Reiterations of important points were also made to ensure that we take note of them. ... "
felt as if i was practicing my crapping skills... commenting on God-hanan's web material, when i only completed 25% of it...

Not everyone, is meant to do great things.
Having put up a brave front everywhere you go, have you for once just feel like breaking down? when everything just falls apart?
i dun noe. right now i wish for a break.
A break from my family.
A break from friends.
A break from school.
A break from everything.
if only there's a place, that solely belongs to me. where there's no one else, where i wouldn't be afraid that anyone could see, so that i can just cry my lungs out. or maybi jus scream at the god damn ocean. for no reason. just to make myself feel better. nothing's gonna change tho.
i wish to let my guard down for once.
have you once told urself, "you're weak! and so be it."
im just too human to thrive in this world...

"oh, um.. im from NJ."
"Huh?!"
"im from NJ"
"Huh?!"
"im from NJ, NJ, NJ."
"Huh?! Huh?! Huh!!!...."
ha, had a brief chat with joshua and tt cow-bell gal from percussion.. ha, oh, they were from nj as well, hence the reaction. and joshua happens to cheewei's and meilin's classmate back in our jc times.. meaning to say if i'd chosen band as my cca back then , we'd hav met one another... ha it's amazing how fate/chance/coincidence brings people together..
Probably more than five years ago. Back in Commonwealth. A Simple Senerade- a modest name given for our first concert. Every detail still vivid in my mind. I still kept the ticket. the programme booklet printed on the pink construction paper, tied together with purple rice paper with a silver tread. Every song we played. The reason for which we were scolded that day. Even the type of chairs we had, i remember them clearly... I don't recall other performances we had, but the first one really meant alot. To me. And now, i forgot the reason why im back here again.
yesterday i had my long-dreaded one-to-one session with gao jian. i dunno, maybi cos im afraid to heard from someone, saying that im not cut out to be a musician, that maybi this isn't a route suited for me. And that night i heard it. Not that he said some crude stuf to me, but just implying that i had to start from scratch and that i still had a long way to go. im tired. i don't want to go a long way.
this concert, does mean something to me, though it didn't started off with me putting in all my heart and soul into it, especiallly during the first few practs this sem when i still couldn;t decide whether to leave or stay. This concert does mean something. Who knows, it might be my last., i realli hav no idea.
Ha, but, it's really comforting to know tt there are people here, who really managed to touch me, not literally of cus, but they let me feel that maybi i really want to be here. gee, i wonder if it's a gd thing.
